“We have a complicated roof (multiple steep angles, two separate roof sections at slightly different heights, dormer, porch), and we wanted something more than just replace the shake with shingles. Mike from Alpine roofing was basically the only person we could get to give us a quote for what we wanted. We wanted to replace the 2 or 3 layers of old shake, but we also wanted to insulate the upstairs. Since the roof is the walls of the upper floor, attic insulation wouldn’t really cut it. Mike recommended insulation board under the new roofing materials. This is somethign that’s apparently done more for commerical than residental roofs, but he made it work for us. Mike was good to work with, knowledgable about roofing materials, roofing, and insulation, quick to respond, clear in his communications, and he visited the work site at least twice while the roof was being installed. Because of the complexity of our roofing job, he subcontracted the roof installation to another team (Dunn-Wright) but the quote, planning, and initial communication was with Alpine. We’d recommend both highly (we are in Yakima).”
